We keep being told about the deforestation of the jungles to make paper, and how we can help preserve the wildlife by using less paper - here is a case of gross waste.
Last week, a package arrived from Amazon; it was no bigger than a regular book size - the box is for an electric can opener - after opening the box we were amazed at the amount of packaging inside.
There are over 20 feet of brown paper surrounding the cardboard box with the opener. The cats loved to chase the paper, and the only good thing is that as the packaging is brown paper, it will be suitable for composting.
The Fuchsia shown here is one I grew from a shoot many years ago and I hope this year to grow more like this next year, once our garden is made disabled accessible.
For many years, my wife and I have turned our waste to good use with homegrown foods, they always taste better than factory farmed produce that is no false statement when you grow a radish the size of a jawbreaker and full of flavor.
I got all the evidence last night.
If I needed proof that writing is for the giving, not the receiving, I got my evidence yesterday.
Yesterday there were over 1,000 posts read by over 200 readers of my blog, but no sign of a sale for my e-books, no wonder I am so p'd off with life, and writing.
Reading is alive, but writing is dead.
People want to read stories, but nobody wants to pay you to write them; I tried several unknown magazines from the USA, Canada, UK, and Australia and all I got was nothing, not even a reject letter.
For the reasons mentioned I would not hesitate to write fake reviews if I got the job, after all, what can I lose?
I don't earn $5 a year as a writer, and I have no reputation to be concerned about.
I cannot see the attraction for a young lady to join ISIS, and be willing to have children in a world with no medical care and a religion that hates women.
When I read about the wars in the Middle East, I think of the quote by GoldaMeir when she said "Peace will only come to the Middle East when the Arabs love their children more than they hate us," think of this next time you read of a child used as a suicide bomber. If the bomb isn't detonated, the child will be shot by the security forces. The headline will read something like this - "IDF soldiers kill a Palestinian child."
If people read www.israeltoday.co.il/ as I used to, they would realise Israel is only defending herself from Arab attacks, she is a Christian state in the Middle East, and surrounded by Muslims.
I stopped reading the magazine because I could not afford the subscription.
I also don't understand people who have issues about LGBT relationships; I used to have friends on both sides of the fence, and we had no issues. I may not understand how you feel, but I will support your wish to be loved, believe me, I know what it feels like to be unloved.
A BBC reporter attempting to stifle public opinion by attacking Tommy Robinson tonight proved how corrupt the Biased Broadcasting Corporation is.
They are like the PA who keep trying to prove that Jews have no claim to Israel, the harder they attempt to disprove what people think, the more they show themselves to be wrong.
The people voted for Brexit two years ago, and the criminal element from the EU is still flooding the UK.
As a Tory voter for many years, the recent TorySplit does not worry me; the people who should be concerned are those still in Labour after the LabourSplit, the new party forming could give the voters a third choice other than UKIP.
I used to vote Labour until the endless strikes of the mid 1980's; we never never from one week to the next what would be available in the shops. I used to be a Unionist back when I believed the Unions would protect jobs, not become a tool to bring down the establishment.
An early reputation for my writing.
Two of my early ghost stories are linked by the romance between a nurse and a US airman whose spirit lies trapped in the wreckage of a crashed plane.
For the life of me, I cannot understand what draws these girls to ISIS, and to live in a religion that treats women worse than slaves?
What mother would choose to have children in a desert country ridden with fleas and lacking medical care?
With a free will, girls like Shamima Begum leave their country to live with ISIS, the enemy of the western world; they have babies and decide that the life is not for them, so they ask to return.
Sure, let them into the country, and try them as traitors as treason is punishable by death.
Really, what do they expect?
Muslims treat women as being lower than cattle, did they expect to get respect?
Girls like Hoda Muthana are nothing more than breeders of terrorists.
A monthly payment.
The advantage of having e-books on Amazon is that I get a monthly payment - www.amazon.com/-/e/B007U50BOI - if it is only a few cents, rather than having to wait for a year as I do on Draft2Digital to pass a $10 minimum for a royalty payment.
Last year was an anomaly as I earned over $6 in one month from my bestseller shown here. That is more than I usually earn in two years from Amazon, so to earn $10 would take me more than four years.
Amazon have said they will delete my books from Draft2Digital on their site if I don't send them an email telling them I took them down.
I had to laugh at the emptiness of the threat as I don't even clear $0.50 a month on Amazon, so taking the books down will have as much impact on my sales as a snowflake on a griddle pan.
The biggest scam in publishing.
I've made many mistakes in my struggle to get a book published, but none was worse than contacting Xlibris publishing; they are nothing more than thieves and scam artists.
Out of curiosity, I googled them last night, to see if they were still active as the last time I heard about them was several years ago when they had a dispute with their distributors for non-payment of costs, nothing has changed.
If you don't believe me, check out the site (Pissed Customer), on there you'll find page after page of complaints about these people.
Years ago, when I helped people, I was asked to edit a book that they had edited the book after I told the author about their practices; he sent me the first pages.
I started but got no further than the first page as the editing in hand was giving me a severe migraine; to get the book readable, I would have needed to write the story from scratch. It didn't help that he'd written the story as one block of over 35 lines with no pauses.
There was every error in writing you could imagine from the wrong capitalization of words to bad grammar, and it was not picked up by their editing staff.
