Charity begins at home.
This post will be contentious, but it is true.
I suggest cutting aid to countries like Syria and India. If they can support nuclear arsenals and space projects, why do they need foreign money - charity begins at home - if you have enough to support one of the most massive armies, if not the largest, in the Middle East and can afford ICBM's, then you have the money to provide for your people.
You may consider this unChristian, but when you have thousands of people living below the poverty line in your country, your people come before foreigners. If you want to see what being Christian to foreigners can do to a country, look at the mess Germany is in; Angela Merkel's Christian Democrat Party allowed Syrians and Muslims into the country by thousands, and now those people with no qualifications or papers are trapped as all the borders with Germany have been closed to travelers without documentation. The country now has a population of immigrants who do not produce, but demand services; the only thing this insurgence has created is a drastic rise in crime.
The only exception I'd make is Israel, the state is under constant attack, and if she falls, then Lord help the West.
On the subject of Israel, recently there was a headline in the media - Israel cuts power to Gaza - the headline should have been the PA force Israel to cut power to Gaza. For years, Israel has been paying over $11,000 a month while the PA has been using US aid money to build rockets to attack the state.
If Israel falls will the UN cease to exist?
For as long as I can recall, the UN has been the voice of Palestine in the war with Israel, while the bigger issue is in Africa with Boko Harum; Israel kills fewer people defending themselves in a decade fighting Palestine than Boko Harum kill in a month, but because Africa is neither newsworthy or profitable the UN says nothing.
