Fire and Brimstone?
Among the other what-ifs in my life is the question of what sort of clergyman would I have been if I'd not missed the opportunity I see in hindsight - www.alsdominion.co.uk/home/did-i-miss-my-vocation-in-life - I used to view myself as the old style fire and brimstone type of preacher, but things have changed.
It's odd, or is it, how reading Premier Christianity magazine has changed my style of writing. Perhaps, I was ready for the change, but had no direction.
Since I began writing my stories - www.alsdominion.co.uk/the-reading-room - I have thought more I am a more forgiving and forward thinking type of person than I imagined.
I can say one thing for sure; if someone came to me to marry them in my church after getting married in secret - www.alsdominion.co.uk/home/whatever-next - no matter who they were I would be forced to decline the offer on the grounds that they never asked before they got married.
My way of thinking would go against the norm for I am not against same-sex marriage, to me if two people love each they should be allowed to marry; isn't it better that two people who love each other get married and be happy than for them to marry a person of the opposite sex because society looks easier on them though they are unhappy. I am also not against ladies rising to higher positions in the church - www.alsdominion.co.uk/home/it-is-a-question-of-belief - I can understand and respect the view that the Bible says women should not hold power, but we need to move with the times as we live in a modern world.
