The price I pay for being an excellent writer.
An aspect readers don't take into account when reading a story is the emotional toll it takes on a writer to write a story.
In my story, Why Me, Lord? I am about to write off one of the characters, a horse called Pedro, I knew this was coming from the start of the story as Pedro is an old horse, but that doesn't ease the pain of killing off a friend; even if it is to help the story.
I always get too involved with my character, it is a flaw, but it keeps the tension in the story feeling real.
