An Italian voyage of discovery.
At the time of writing the story I was blogging about Israel and the Jewish people. It was my plan to write a series about Jewish populations around the Meditteranean, but things have changed a lot since then.
I still support the Jewish cause but because of the aggression it brought me showing my support, I no longer blog about Israel.
Also, as I say I planned to write a series; my bad, no use doing that if the first book is not selling.
I think I may go back to writing science fiction, at least people bought those stories.
In my e-book, the main character,Kim Altland mentions his desire to visit Bergamo in Italy.
At the time I thought of Bergamo, I had no idea it was one of the largest Jewish populations in Italy, I chose the city because it is near Milan, somewhere I would have loved to visit.
If I can find the motivation to write again, I will combine the stories "A Homecoming," and "The Reunion," and add an afterword to make this story my longest completed story at 160 pages.
The book is completed, and will be for sale at Amazon next week - www.amazon.com/dp/B07TH1WSB5.
I said completed as I have on file over 90 pages of the "The Indie Wars," and as yet, I have no idea how long this story could be; as I was writing the story, the novel was expanding in my mind. Not only growing but giving me ideas for other stories as spin-off short stories; this story started life as a short-run series on my Google blog almost a decade ago. I stopped writing it because I found I was writing more pages than I was getting readers.
An epic has been found
I thought I had deleted all the files for my story "The Word," but I have found all 97 pages on my Google drive.
The story was far from over when I stopped writing it as I thought nobody was reading what I wrote.
This story is by far the longest I have written, and even at this stage it is not close to the end.
An issue of trust.
We do it without thinking; we put our lives in the hands of people we think we can trust because we believe that they are capable of doing the job they have been asked to perform.
Sometimes, as in the tragedy in the Alps with the Greenwings jet several years ago it is misplaced. I feel the same now about my forthcoming appointment at Southmead Hospital.
I am not concerned the specialist may be an Egyptian Muslim, what worries me is that he graduated from Cairo University, one of the lowest ranked universities, only the establishments in the Balkan states get rated lower.
I have had a war with my genetic for over two decades, so getting the news I have cancer won't phase me too much, but putting my health in the hands of a person whose country has a literacy rate of below 25% (14%) does cause grave concern to me.
I don't do enough writing to warrant getting a better laptop.
Two years ago, if someone had offered me the money to replace my failing laptop, I would have gratefully accepted the offer. Now, I have this opportunity, but I feel that it is not worth the money to get my ailing laptop replaced as I don't do 1/10 of the writing I one did, and I would only be using the computer to occasionally make DVDs of Scandinavian crime series I can't buy.
Kim Altlands' lady friend.
In my romances www.amazon.com/dp/1722412739, and the unfinished sequel www.alsdominion.co.uk/the-reading-room/the-reunion the writer Kim Altland gets called back to Israel by a mystery lady he sees in his dreams if you have wondered what she looks like I based her on the Israeli actress Hannah Laszlo shown here.
I decided to bring the sequel and the original short story out as one book - www.draft2digital.com/book/453841 -, for better value for the reader, as the first edition has sold one copy in two years there won't be any complaints from the readers. The double issue will be my longest completed work to date at 160, and will have an exclusive ending after the ending of "The Reunion."
