An amusing story.
My wife reminded me of an incident during my days with RAFG.
She got up from her nap not long ago, and couldn't recall if it is night or day as it is black outside.
I did that one Winter's day at RAF Laarbruch; as it was winter I went to work in the dark, being a photographic processor I worked in a dark room, and as we had cooking facilities in our area I usually ate with my workmates; then I would go to the mess and head back to barracks.
I'd arrive back in my room not having seen daylight, during the winter this was the "norm."
On the day in question, I entered my room, and as usual, I switched my light on, this time instead of reading - BFBS TV was useless in those days - I fell asleep.
Some while later I woke to find it was 11:00; my first thought was "Shoot, am I in the doghouse for this!"
Gathering my senses, I looked out to see what the weather was, to find it was pitch black. It took me a few minutes to realize I had only been asleep for a few hours.
