Before the success of Forgestriker.
Years before I earned my rep for science fiction with my Forgestriker series www.alsdominion.co.uk/home/how-great-thou-art, I started a project called The Word.
The concept started because I am concerned about the lack of reading the modern generation does when you compare it with how many use game apps for their Ipads.
A group called The Word are trying to fight to win the minds of the young back to reading and away from the dependence on the games provided by their enemy - The Game Lords.
This project has been ongoing for several years - on and off - I came across some old files today on a USB stick I thought I'd lost, and found that when I stopped the story (for the second time), I had written over 100 pages; making this series my longest book by a long way.
This story is a long way from where I would consider ending it, I am considering going ahead with the story, if only for something to do when I am not being a virtual tourist www.alsdominion.co.uk/the-reading-room/my-life-as-a-virtual-tourist.
Along with the central theme I had considered two side projects linked to the concept; one was about a man who risks his life to bring the Indie Writers works into the light of the readers, and the other was about a group of people who were seeking out lost works by unknown writers from the past,
I started the series on my Google blog but gave up because I was writing more paragraphs a week than I was getting readers, the second time I wrote the series was for my old channel on Disqus, again, I stopped for lack of response from readers.
The story has nothing to do with dragons; I used this image as it is one I would have used if I was going to write a dragon short story collection www.alsdominion.co.uk/the-reading-room/there-be-dragons.
